George's Story

“My father Norman Todd would take me along to work hours from town, along the dusty Pilbara roads for days at a time. That’s where my journey around HME started. From there, after my school years, I always worked with HME, starting out as an operator and then stepping into a supervisor’s role. Buru Group started when we had the opportunity to supply a mining company with our very first dry-hire HME to load trains in the Pilbara. From that one opportunity to supply on a long-term contract, we have now grown to over 30+ machines. My daughter Rebecca Todd and Operations Manager  Flo Bennet now oversees company operations from Port Hedland. As Buru Group looks to step into a new business relationship with another successful Pilbara business, I, myself, get to reflect on where Buru began with the first 30T excavator to now owning Heavy Earthmoving Equipment.
